A slight slip-up? I doubt it. Note how he kinda scowls before he makes the omission. My bet is that he saw it on the ole’ teleprompter but refused to say it.
And just in case some don’t know, it should read “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
Seems odd to me, especially considering that he is speaking at a Congressional Hispanic Caucus gathering. One might tend to think that he would take a different approach when accounting for the fact that the Hispanic population is 25% Protestant and 70% Roman Catholic. Even with this fact firmly in his mind (and believe me, Democrats and Republicans know these figures by heart), he refuses to acknowledge the basic principals that this country was founded upon.
Some may believe that my concerns border upon hysteria, attempting to distract people from the real problems that face this nation. However, in my humble opinion, these are the real concerns.
